Antigen self-test box.

After using it several times, regardless of the accuracy, this product still has some advantages compared with nucleic acid detection, which is fast, saves manpower and can be done anytime and anywhere. It can indeed be used as a supplement to nucleic acid detection.

After briefly checking the following information, it seems that many such products have been launched at home and abroad, which are roughly divided into two types, one is the common plastic box form, and the other is the paper card form. The two methods have the same principle, but each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

I simply did some desktop research and spent two days optimizing and reforming the version of the plastic box. The scheme seems to have solved some problems, but some problems have not been solved.

For example, under the current scheme, the sampling tube can only be made by blow molding. The overall use mode may cost more to learn. Whether the combination of cotton swabs and test boxes can be realized in actual production, etc.

1. The cotton swab is not long enough. Why are cotton swabs on the market now long? There are two functions: one is to collect saliva/nasal fluid samples, the deeper the more accurate, the shallower the less accurate, the higher the virus concentration is often below the throat. If the accuracy is not high, it is losing the meaning of detection. The second is to avoid cross-infection when collecting samples, so you can't go deep into your mouth.
2. The liquid in the sampling tube is highly toxic. The direct insertion of the sampling tube on the detection card may cause liquid leakage or excessive liquid failure.
Both of these will increase the risk of inaccurate detection.

3. Add one. Cotton swabs must be packaged aseptically. If they are designed together with the test kit, the production cost will be increased. The cotton swabs and the test card need to be disinfected together. The problem brought about by this is not only the substantial increase in cost, but also whether there is any damage to the detection card during the disinfection process?

Well, cotton swabs need to be lengthened a little longer, but they don't need to be very long, because this is an antigen test, which is different from the principle of nucleic acid detection. The recommended method for antigen products in the market is to extend 1~1.5cm into the nostril, which is completely different from the nucleic acid poke we made before. Then the problem of the solution, I found that the solution component of the antigen self-test box is salt solution, and if it is highly toxic, the user will definitely not be allowed to operate the whole process by himself.
