2026 is a year worth remembering for Paramétrique.
LumiSleep D1, the first product of LumiMind's NeuroFlux technology platform, an intelligent head-mounted EEG sleep instrument integrating neuroscience and wearable technology, won the Red Dot Award, A' Design Award Bronze Award and DNA Paris Design Award in succession this year.
Throughout the project, Parametric Design/Paramétrique Masan is responsible for the overall industrial design and CMF strategy, transforming cutting-edge neurotechnology into daily wear products that combine aesthetics, comfort and trust.

Sleep, a daily experience, has long been “observed” by technology yet rarely reimagined.

LumiSleep D1 is the LumiMind real-time neuro-coupled regulation sleep headband, Modulation by Real-Time Neural Coupling™Technology explores possibilities ranging from sleep monitoring to real-time neural interaction.

Parametric Design/Paramétrique Marsan is responsible for its industrial design and CMF strategy, transforming complex technologies into natural forms and wearing experiences.

This is a deep fusion of design, neuroscience and wearable technology, and an exploration of how sleep can be reunderstood.

01 Why Should We Rethink Sleep?
Sleep products are undergoing a transformation. In the past, technology was primarily used to “observe sleep.” Unlike ordinary electronic products, sleep equipment needs to be worn for a long time in the most relaxed state of the human body.
Therefore, the product form of LumiSleep D1 does not emphasize the mechanical sense of traditional technology products, but responds to the head structure with a soft and continuous contour.
The product’s various functional modules are seamlessly integrated through subtle structural layers, maintaining overall simplicity while ensuring clear functional differentiation across different areas.

It is no longer merely a data-recording device; it may become a new medium of interaction between humans and the nervous system.

For design, this poses an entirely different question:
How to make highly complex neurotechnology enter the most private life scene in a natural way? The design exploration of LumiSleep D1 also began.

02 Complex technology should have a simple appearance.
Lumimind is a wearable sleep headband that incorporates cutting-edge neuroscience LumiSleep the technology behind the D1 is incredibly complex. However, the product itself does not need to constantly emphasize this complexity to users. On the contrary, the design aims to gradually relegate technology to the background of the product.

The overall shape adopts a simple and continuous design language to reduce unnecessary visual cutting and make the product form a more natural relationship with the head in the wearing state.
Different functional components are distinguished through subtle hierarchical structures, establishing a clear visual order while maintaining overall integrity.
The more complex the technology, the simpler the product should be.
This is the direction that LumiSleep D1 has consistently adhered to throughout the design process.

This is not only a sleep device, but also a new way of sleep interaction.
For a product that needs to accompany the user to sleep, comfort is not an additional function, but the core of the product experience.


03 The Design Role of Parameter Design
In this project, Parameter Design Masang was responsible for the overall industrial design and CMF strategy.

Our design goal is very clear: to make highly cutting-edge neurotechnology look, touch and wear like a product "made for people.
From structure, material to color and touch, we use international design language to make technology products have emotional value, trust and the possibility of long-term use.
When a product is so close to the human body, its color, materials, and tactile qualities all become integral parts of the user experience. The CMF design of the LumiSleep D1 does not deliberately pursue a strong sense of futurism.
Instead, through restrained colors, soft materials, and subtle changes between different surface treatments, a balance between technology and affinity is established. A sense of technology doesn’t necessarily mean coldness.
For sleep products, what truly matters may be comfort, quietness, and reliability.
This is also the meaning of CMF in this project-not only to define what the product "looks like", but also to influence what it "feels like".
This is precisely the direction we have consistently upheld: using design as a bridge to bring technology into everyday life.
