01 Core structure: opening and closing structure, pushing backwards from demand
The knife edge is normally closed, dust-proof and anti-accidental touch-this is the conclusion from "it will be put in the schoolbag. The occasion for children to cut their pens is beside the desk, in the corridor, not in a special stationery table, so the knife edge should not be kept open all the time. The key to "lifting the lid and using it" lies in the short action: thumb capping, sending out conveniently, pushing the nib directly, without changing hands in the whole process. Structure here is never a matter of shape, it is a matter of experience.

02 use details: transparent crumb bin, visible clean
The crumbs bin is the most easily overlooked part of the pencil sharpener. It determines how often the child will pour ash and whether he will dirty his hands when pouring. We made the warehouse transparent: how much has been cut and how much is left can be seen at a glance-"visible" itself is a reminder that children will take the initiative to clean up.
