We all live our lives under illusions, assuming purpose and direction to everything we see. The concept of “illusion stool” stems from this state of mind, capturing the moment when liquid is being poured out of a container. The seat is supported by the falling liquid and this is where the illusion lies. In Jeff Dickson's poem “paradox”, he highlights how chasing material possessions can create an illusion of happiness and like this, the “illusion stool” creates the illusion that the liquid is supporting the stool in which Man sits on, eventhough the liquid is essentially being poured out by Man.
