This work takes DuPont paper as the main raw material, uses the traditional Chinese paper art paste technique, and makes extensive use of paste as adhesive in the process of production. Traditional wisdom makes the paper more delicate.
NARA's inspiration comes from the elves and snowmen in my mind. They all have a common feature of being flexible and comfortable. The whole design is made up of many beautiful curves, which are interrelated and converge in a "circle". I want to bring more possibilities to the space through such an interesting lamp.
After the landing of the NARA lamp design, I have been exploring the new material possibilities of NARA. It was not until I saw the traditional Chinese paper lamp that I finalized the new development direction.
I have always felt that design is the need to inherit its national culture and spirit, rather than simply follow the trend of the times. Noguchi's and paper lamps became popular online. I read his design instructions and said that the inspiration for paper lamps came from Japanese lanterns. I just thought, do paper lamps and Chinese lanterns have a long history?
Chinese culture and lifestyle are the foundation of my design, and inheritance and innovation are the mission of my design.
