The current context of pet keeping is undergoing a profound anthropological turn-Mao children are no longer just "objects" of housekeeping, but "companions" incorporated into the modern family structure ". However, traditional pet trimmers are still cold, crude industrial tools.
The core pain points are:
"Trim wound": sharp metal knife head, huge motor roar, very easy to trigger pet stress response (escape, trembling).
"Technical anxiety": novice owners face the traditional heavy models, it is extremely difficult to master the thrust and angle, resulting in a strong sense of frustration and "fear of injury anxiety" to pet skin ".
"Scene Disjointed": Traditional maintenance tools are obtrusive in shape and cannot fit into the warm home environment of modern log color/cream style.
Design Psychology: Empowerment from Instinct to Reflection]
We use Donald Norman's three-level design psychology as a guide to construct an emotional closed loop:
Instinct layer (appearance and touch): abandon the hard chamfer and adopt the round shape of the fully covered capsule. This kind of visual "no sharp angle" can instantly transmit a gentle and safe subconscious signal, reducing the owner's psychological defense.
Behavior layer (operation and feedback): from "cut" to "care". The focus of the design has risen from simple hair pushing to the scene of "combing, managing and maintaining", turning the boring pruning into an interactive ceremony.
Reflective layer (identity): Elegant color matching and delicate texture satisfy the pet owner's identity of "exquisite pet lovers" and make "grooming pets at home" a proud daily life.
[Material and Process (CMF Landing Analysis)]]
In order to balance the high color value, skin-friendly touch and mass production feasibility, we have made deep considerations on CMF:
Body main material: ABS engineering plastic skin (or matte UV) coating. Give up the bright surface that is easy to leave fingerprints, and choose the warm matte touch, which not only does not slip, but also visually shows more advanced and durable.
Metal handle and knob: The top U-shaped handle and the main control knob are made of aluminum alloy, and the surface is treated by PVD vacuum plating or anodizing. It not only has the luster of metal, but also ensures the structural strength when hanging. The surface of the large knob is supplemented by fine wire drawing or CD pattern, which increases the slip resistance and also improves the visual tonality of precision instruments.
Transparent window and heating area (fig. 2): the outer layer of the heating area is made of high strength and high temperature resistant PC (polycarbonate), which has high light transmittance and is effectively explosion-proof and scratch-proof. The internal grille is integrated with the heating wire (nickel-chromium alloy), which solves the heat insulation and heat dissipation problem of the heat source and the structural part, and ensures that the touch is not hot.
Interaction Design and UX Architecture]
Interaction design starts from "ergonomics" and "operational mental model", and strives to be intuitive and prevent false touch:
Top handle interaction: more than just a decorative piece. It perfectly combines the needs of hanging storage, grasping movement (one-handed lifting), and multi-angle lifting and gripping force when trimming the pet's underarm/abdomen, greatly freeing the wrist.
A hierarchical key matrix (Figure 1): The main knob is responsible for the linear adjustment of the core functions (precise control of wind speed/thrust), with a key panel. Three different function keys (power supply, mode, light, etc.) cooperate with indicator lights, and use the hierarchical relationship of color, shape and position to guide users to operate blindly, avoid confusion, and truly realize "fool-like" threshold-free interaction.
Damping feedback design: The damping of the main knob has been adjusted many times, and each rotation can bring a clear "paragraph feeling" to the finger. With the breathing change of the LED lamp ring, a "visual-tactile" dual multi-modal feedback is constructed, allowing users to have a clear idea of the operating state.

In view of the original single color matching problem, we pulled out a set of CMF matrix based on "user portrait and home scene:
