in December 2016, the award ceremony and the laureate concert of the first Younghi Pagh-Paan International Composition Prize with the Gyeonggi Orchestra were carried out in the Berliner Philharmonie. This Prize is an award for contemporary music which is given to young composers who write a piece of music for traditional Korean and Western instruments. As a brand logo, the Jeongganbo was used which was invented by the Korean king Sejong and is the oldest Eastern notation system to indicate the height and length of musical notes. In order to visualize the intensity of contemporary music, a severe contrast between red and black was chosen.
