Traditional pet water bowls are easily knocked over by pets, causing the ground to be wet and very troublesome to clean up. Moreover, static water is easy to breed bacteria, which is not good for pet health. This floating water bowl uses the principle of buoyancy to always stay afloat on the water, reducing the risk of being knocked over. At the same time, the water in the flow can increase the oxygen content, so that the water is more fresh, more attractive to pets to drink.
Design Process
Material selection: In order to ensure safety and durability, the main component of the food-grade environmentally friendly plastic is a blend of polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE). PP has good chemical resistance and high strength, while PE gives the material excellent flexibility and impact resistance. This combination is not only non-toxic and tasteless, in line with pet contact standards, but also can effectively resist scratching, collision and long-term immersion in water in daily use, ensuring a long service life of the water bowl. In order to enhance its wear resistance, a small amount of nano-sized silica particles are added to the plastic to increase its surface hardness without affecting the overall soft touch and avoid scratching pets.
Shape design: the bowl body is designed into a unique streamlined shape, and its length, width and height ratio are accurately calculated, which is 3:2:1.5. This ratio maximizes the reduction of water resistance and makes the water bowl more stable when floating on the water surface. The arc design of the bowl mouth can not only facilitate pets to drink water easily from all angles, but also prevent water from overflowing when shaking. The edge of the bowl mouth has been polished many times, and a special rounded corner process is used to control the radius to 3-5mm to ensure that it is round and smooth without scratching the pet's mouth.
Buoyancy regulation: after many tests, the combination of built-in buoyancy chamber and bottom counterweight is adopted. The buoyancy chamber is made of lightweight polystyrene foam, which is much less dense than water and can provide stable buoyancy. The counterweight is made of stainless steel with high density. By accurately calculating its weight and position, the water bowl can maintain balance under different water quantity and water quality conditions. In the connection part of the buoyancy chamber and the bowl body, a high-strength waterproof adhesive is used to ensure sealing and prevent water from penetrating into the buoyancy. At the same time, an adjustable counterweight knob is also set at the bottom. The owner can fine-tune the counterweight according to the actual use situation, further ensuring that the water bowl will not sink or roll over easily when the pet is shaking hard when drinking water.
