Looking a bit like the spiritual successor to the Braun T3 radio and classic iPod, the CM-15 is the latest device Teenage Engineering to adapt to its music technology ecosystem. The design of the condenser microphone is very clean, exquisite and simple, with an all-metal design, a compact body and an internal capacitive diaphragm up to 1 inch, providing you with the clearest audio capture ever. The CM-15 provides a combination of 48v phantom powered mini XLR, USB audio interface preamplifier and 3.5mm line output (with built-in battery), which can be used with various devices, including directly with your mobile phone/laptop, and even With the company's TX-6 handheld mixer and OP-1 synthesizer, it has strong compatibility and can make music or record audio/podcasts anytime, anywhere. The CM-15 is compact enough to fit in your pocket and comes with a tripod adapter.
CM-15 are able to record everything from studio drum sets to ASMR-style voiceover, thanks to the microphone's huge 1-inch diaphragm, which seems unusually large compared to the small size of the microphone itself. The capacitor provides an ultra-cardioid pickup pattern, making it ideal for capturing sound from the front while isolating sound from the side and canceling sound from the back.
The switch on the side allows you to power the microphone, while another switch on the back allows you to select the gain level according to the recorded content. Set the gain to zero for loud sound, and for softer, more subtle audio, adjust the gain to the II position to capture the faintest sound. At the same time, the microphone supports three types of output-a phantom-powered mini XLR, a USB-C with its own power supply and a 3.5mm output supplemented by the CM-15's own built-in battery. It is worth mentioning that the CM-15 supports all three outputs used simultaneously, allowing you to send recorded audio to three interfaces at the same time.
The CM-15 is priced at $1199, which is much higher than most other condensers, and its price is about the same as the iPhone 14 Pro. The CM-15 is listed on the teen engineering website but won't go on sale until this summer, according to the site.
