Hello everyone, I am Sun Yu, an industrial designer, graduated from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. Design is actually communication, communication between products and people, which is probably what fascinates me most about design.

-Preface-

Children will spend more time in mobile phone tablets, and younger children are extremely vulnerable to excessive immersion.

Childhood is an important stage in building a cognitive understanding of the world. Compared with rigid control, it may be a better way to divert attention in an interesting way and make children interested in the exploration of the world around them. Children's cameras have become the most ideal category at present.

-Honest expression-

Today's cameras are already complex products. To make children understand it more clearly, we must first disassemble the complex product elements, extract simplified symbols and then reorganize them.

It's a bit like a stick figure. It uses the basic shape as an element to form some images. Using a bird as an example, the circle is the head of the bird, the triangle is the mouth, the semicircle becomes the body and wings of the bird, and the trapezoid is the tail. Is that a strong picture?

Simplified symbols can make people better understand objects. The ability to use symbols to assist understanding is embedded in human genes. The symbol murals on ancient rock walls are like this, as are the appearance of hieroglyphs.

We disassembled the composition of the camera into several large pieces, and then simplified it into a basic geometric body. The fuselage was transformed into a round cuboid with golden ratio. The lens was a cylinder, thus forming the prototype of the design.

-Nice, easy to use-

To have a good experience, a beautiful appearance is far from enough, and more importantly, it is easy to use. With the basic design, the details cannot be sloppy.

In order to make the interaction more interesting, a physical filter was added, including three optical-grade color filters and two multi-faceted prisms for six levels. Compared with better-implemented electronic filters, physical filters will bring an extremely intuitive experience.

The shape and rotation of the ring-shaped six-hole are not unfamiliar. Film projectors in the film age have the same language. As a classic symbol for driving light and photos, it is now placed on the rotating lens.

We have also designed a reliable limit structure for the rotation of the lens. The hardness of the material, the strength of the spring, the friction area, the matching clearance, etc., through repeated optimization, finally presents a pleasant feel, and the delicate and clear paragraph feeling is accompanied by The crisp sound seems to be holding a decompression product.

There is no extra decoration in the details, and the physical mode knob equipped in the classic camera is retained on the top, which not only strengthens the camera composition, but also brings a simpler and clearer operation experience. These are particularly important in children's products.

In order to have a good experience, it must be easy to operate. The design of keys in most children's cameras obviously pays more attention to form. Some of them gather together a direction key to look good. However, the direction key still corresponds to different functions, that is, "up and down, left and right" is not "up and down, left and right", and the experience is even more confusing.

The first step is to put the power key, which is a low-frequency but high-level key, on the back of the fuselage. This was originally a LOGO decoration position, which integrates the indicator light, and the light will not be blocked during charging.

The ring arrow key is a time-verified arrangement. The delete and return keys are placed below to keep the edges of both sides aligned. The red delete key emphasizes the functional level. The key width and height were determined by testing several children.

Although the key area accommodates 7 keys, it is still visually clear and easy to understand.

The integration of USB interface, memory card slot, reset key, horn hole and side cover maximizes the use of space. In order to completely match the surface effect of the body, the USB cover has been optimized for many times using slightly expensive double-material injection molding process and other details.

If the product is to be reliable, excellent structural design is indispensable, and children's products will have more rigorous structural requirements. In addition to the conventional structural design, a reinforced bracket plate structure is also designed internally to ensure internal strength and stability, and the shell thickness is much higher than that of most similar products on the market to strengthen the products.

The higher product has restored expectations and has so far won the 2019 GOOD DESIGN AWARD Design Award of Japan and the iF Design Award of 2020 of Germany.

Winter fur ball trimmer Snow mountain

Er, hey, hello! I am very happy to know you in this way. As a 96 designer, that's the sentence: "little friend, do you have a lot of question marks?" Ha ha, I think so. A designer, also called Xiaobai. Not long after graduation, I chose the road of product design to make the world a little different. I have done graphic, interior and clothing design. Share a word I like: "If your life is bad, how do you design products that make people's lives better?"

I am a person who likes the sunshine in winter very much. The feeling of design is like this warm winter sun, which shines into people's hearts and warms the whole winter. Therefore, when I first came into contact with this product, I felt very suitable for myself.

Most people have used the hair remover. In the cold winter, everyone likes furry things and feels very comfortable. But what follows is the annoying fur ball. If the messy life needs to be cleaned up, the first feeling inspired by the fur ball trimmer is the snowy mountain in winter, which is clean and thorough, making people comfortable and calm.

Later, I found many photos of snowy mountains, until I saw one photo, I was inspired by the design. There is no continuous ups and downs, no redundant pictures, simple and clean and thorough.

I optimized and refined the inspiration of snow mountain modeling and applied it to the design, with simple and clean line feeling and translucent frosted texture in the lower half of the fuselage. The overall sense of design still wants to express a clean texture.

After investigating the hairball trimmers on the market, three groups of different sizes are used for the aperture to meet the needs of different clothes for trimming the aperture.

The charging port is a Type-C interface. The body that was originally too round may not be easy to grasp during operation. A man-machine method is adopted here. The sunken gripper position is a switch, which is more convenient and comfortable to use.

The overall shape is small and easy to store, and there are no extra lines and design points in the shape. All the design ideas are that I want the cleanest and most direct design, unconscious operation and use, and discard any extra things.
