The fixture is part of the Arina Desk. It was designed to provide basic task light functionality for the desk. The fixture shares the some design language with the Arina desk to keep the aesthetic.

As for the ba-se, users can choose from two options for now, and there will be more options in the future. I believe now people prefer design that has consistency through multiple and related pieces.
