Xijia fully hollow mechanical watch, from China's original designer watch brand CIGA Design Xijia, won the 2017 German Red Dot Design Award and the 2019 German Award Special Award.

For me, time has another condensed concreteness.
Watches are the carrier of time. By quantifying time, we have the concept of time other than the rising sun and the moon.

The square case is matched with a round movement, which interprets the traditional concept of a round sky with modern design language. The projected full hollow design makes the movement clear and visible, allowing the mechanical beauty to be displayed without any cover. The pendulum that swings with the shaking of the arm, the interlocking gears, and the precise mechanical movement record the flow of time.

On this watch, every minute is visible.

In the 800-year history of clocks and watches, the most valuable thing is precision machinery. Even in the era of intelligence, people are still full of enthusiasm for precision machinery.

This is also the original intention of my design: pay tribute to the traditional mechanical watch and maximize the charm of mechanical art.

In order to realize this design, I need to do subtraction to eliminate the extra elements in the mechanical watch-the elements that affect the observability of the movement, and try to discard them.
We have tried many methods, constantly trying, overthrowing and starting again. In the end, we use nylon blocks to make the movement appear "suspended" in the case. This flexible connection method changes the rigid connection between the traditional watch movement and the case, and the seismic performance is more stable.

Design should return to the essence of things.

During the investigation, I observed and analyzed the behavior of young people wearing watches, and found that the post-90s and post -95 generations no longer need to rely on luxury goods to reflect their identity. They emphasize more on their own personality and regard watches as accessories.

As Schopenhauer said, the object we are willing to wear on our bodies is an external reflection of an internal state.

In terms of Xijia's concept, the more important thing about a watch is not only whether it is beautiful or not, but also whether it can shape you, whether it can reflect your connotation and quality of life.

We will continue to adhere to original design and form our own unique style and unique brand DNA.
