Electric bicycle Cayo
Design Concept:
The Changers of Everyday Life
"I want to ride a bike"-sung by Freddie Mercurri, and the Dutchman really lived it up. With over 22 million bicycles in the 17 million population, the country holds the world record. With the Cayo e-bike, Dutch bicycle manufacturer Gazelle is tapping into this deep-rooted cycling culture while building a bridge to the future of urban mobility. Officially, the Cayo combines the familiar silhouette of a normal bicycle with modern e-bike technology. The center motor is almost hidden in the lower tube, and the battery is elegantly integrated at the bottom of the frame. The frame adopts a clear and simple design language, using straight cylinders, smooth transitions and sharp lines, giving it a striking and elegant appearance. In pursuit of minimalist style, Cayo removed obvious screw connections and redundant design elements. Natural details, such as the integrated seat clip and the hidden Gazelle logo on the inside of the frame, show the high degree of precision of the design. The cockpit also follows the principle of integrated minimalism: the handlebars, handlebars and cables form almost a coherent line. The traditional display screen is replaced by a smart phone, which can be charged directly and wirelessly, while also being cleverly integrated into the overall concept. "You can tell Cayo comes from a culture where bicycles are ubiquitous in everyday life. A lot of attention has been paid to the details of this e-bike, "said the jury enthusiastically. The ergonomic design of the Cayo is tailored to urban traffic. Slightly forward sitting ensures an active, comfortable posture and good vision. Infinitely variable speed or single speed is optional, which can bring riding pleasure and is suitable for daily use. The jury's assessment: "Kaiyo combines two rounds of everyday life with minimalist aesthetics, technological innovation and urban elegance. Despite its advanced technology, it remains low-key and authentic-in line with the brand's image, respecting tradition, and guiding the future of urban e-mobility. The balanced geometric design combines comfort and movement, bringing a variety of riding dynamics. Clear lines, unified design integration and the embodiment of no superfluous elements are the characteristics of this timeless style."
