Simplified Design Requirements for the Myoelectric Wristband
1. Project Positioning
This product is a wearable device for lower forearm dry electrode electromyography. It collects sEMG signals to realize AR interaction, virtual control and scientific research data collection. Different from traditional smart watches, the core is lightweight and modular in structural design around stable electromyography collection. Refer to the me-ta Neural Band, adhering to the principle of sensor priority.
2. Core Hardware Boundaries
The internal hardware of the electronic compartment occupies a space of 30 × 30 × 8mm, and the structure is reserved for wall thickness, sealing, charging and antenna clearance. Metal shielding is prohibited in the 2.4G ceramic antenna area; Magnetic attraction/contact charging is adopted to prevent contact corrosion. PCB and battery are used as buffer limit, and hidden debugging interface is reserved.
3. Ergonomic wearing requirements
Worn on the forearm, 20–35mm proximal to the wrist crease; adjustable circumference of 145–205 mm, strap width 22 mm, sensor‑lined section 20mm wide. When worn, there is no noticeable slippage during actions such as clenching the fist or rotating the wrist, and the electrode pressure is even, without causing skin discomfort; the design accommodates both left and right hands, reducing production costs.
4. Four major modular structures
Rear electronic module (containing active components): integrates a PCB, battery, IMU, haptic feedback, and LEDs; features a low-profile, rounded‑edge form factor with no large display, and is mounted on the lateral aspect of the forearm to avoid compressing the sensor‑sensitive area.
Replaceable passive-sensing liner: integrates electrode carriers and passive conductors that can be individually replaced to accommodate diverse wearing requirements.
Soft-electrode island: single capsule/elliptical electrode contact area 8 mm, with a protrusion of 0.6–0.9 mm,
