The world's first Red Dot Design Museum was built in the Customs Union Coal Mine Industrial Zone in Essen, Germany. It was designed and renovated on the basis of the abandoned boiler room by Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Norman Forster (a well-known architectural designer such as Apple's headquarters building). The collection of more than 2,000 exhibits from 45 countries, and the award-winning works of the year are displayed here, which is a large-scale contemporary design exhibition hall in the world.
