"Light Island" is a full-spectrum wake-up sleeping light with the core of simulating natural light changes. Aiming at the pain points of contemporary users, such as sleep quality decline, alarm clock awakening discomfort, lack of atmosphere transition before going to bed, full spectrum LED is used to simulate the light change of sunrise gradually brightening and sunset gradually dimming, and the lighting is upgraded from simple "turning on and off lights" to rhythmic light experience. The product combines soft light effect with minimalist geometric shape, and has four modes of wake-up, sleep companion, reading lighting and atmosphere light, creating a bedroom lighting product with sleep health and home aesthetics.
2. Design Background and User Analysis
2.1 Design Background
Market trends and pain points of existing products.
Sleep health has become a consumer hot spot, sleep-assisted household products are growing rapidly; full-spectrum lighting technology is mature, costs are falling, and they are beginning to enter the consumer market; young users are pursuing "bedtime ritual sense", and the demand for ambient lighting is rising. However, the pain points of the existing products are obvious: the traditional alarm clock wakes up, and the waking experience is poor.
2.2 Target Users
Target audience profile.
25-40-year-old urban white-collar workers, people with low sleep quality and difficulty in getting up; secondary groups are bedroom soft-fitting lovers and users who pay attention to the sense of life ritual. Consumption characteristics are willingness to pay for health and quality of life, preference for minimalist aesthetics and intelligent experience.
2.3 User Needs Analysis
1. Aesthetic requirements: the product is a part of the bedside soft outfit, simple and advanced in shape, and is also a decoration when not lit;
2. Functional requirements: simulated sunrise, wake-up, sunset, sleep, reading, lighting, three-in-one;
3. Experience needs: simple operation, soft and natural light effect, falling asleep and waking up are a kind of enjoyment.
3. Design Inspiration and Concept Development
3.1 Source of Inspiration
Inspired by the day's change of natural light-the first ray of sunshine in the morning penetrates the gradual brightness of the curtain, and the last ray of afterglow at dusk fades. The changing rhythm of this light is solidified into the core interactive logic of the product, allowing users to feel the rhythm of natural light indoors. The shape means "island"-an island floating on the head of a bed, round and soft, without sharp edges and corners, like a stone polished by the waves, quietly accompanying every night and morning.
3.2 Styling Concept
Remove all excess decoration and retain pure geometric contours-oval/rounded rectangular contours, concise to the extreme. With light as the core modeling language, the lamp body itself is restrained and low-key, making light the visual protagonist. Matte white/light gray as the main color, into any bedroom style, not eye-catching but can withstand close inspection. Matte surface treatment, touch warm, visually "quiet not to grab the play".
4. Appearance and Form Design
4.1 Overall Design
The whole is a minimalist geometric shape, which is divided into two components: the main body of the lamp body and the base. The shape is integrated and the vision is clean.
Wake-up mode: the lamp body gradually brightens, simulating sunrise, and the color temperature transitions from warm orange to warm white, suitable for waking up in the morning;
With sleep mode: the lamp body gradually darkens, simulates sunset, and the color temperature transitions from warm white to warm orange until it goes out, which is suitable for sleeping before going to bed;
• Reading mode: constant brightness, soft surface light source, not dazzling, suitable for bedtime reading;
• Atmosphere mode: fixed low-brightness warm light, used as a bedroom atmosphere lamp, suitable for daily atmosphere lighting.
