The project site is located in Lishui, Zhejiang, with an indoor area of about 2300 square meters on the top floor office building. It is a space renovation design for a collection of business offices and reception clubs. The owner hopes to place the local historical archway in the center of the space as a respect for the traditional context, and at the same time demonstrate the company culture of being a modern technology company that does not forget the tradition and continues the past. As a result, the design of the main atrium space also extends around this historical archway. How to deal with the relationship between the new and the old has become the key to the problem. Set up a lighting atrium in the center of the office space to introduce natural light; and the historical archway will become the most important exhibition device in this brand-new space, where the new and the old, tradition and the future form A dialogue relationship full of tension. The spatial architecture design of the atrium echoes the essence of the traditional Chinese courtyard, taking the central aisle-patio-corridor gray space as the sequence, and progressive layer by layer; and using the spatial techniques of introducing, framing, and reflecting to shape, To achieve rich landscape levels and visual experience. The lighting part of the atrium is an additional part. Under the condition that the height of the ancient archway is limited, in order to effectively reduce the newly added volume and avoid the obstruction of the landscape on the appearance, a relatively free space wrapping form is adopted, and the torsion volume changing from triangle to quadrilateral is also driven by the torsion shape. The fluidity and rhythm of the space. Natural light through the mottled light and shadow of the louver sky and the modern interior space full of scientific and technological sense wraps the old archway, connecting the past and the present, like a time tunnel. Perhaps there are many ways to pay attention to the use of tradition. In this project, we put forward our own answer sheet, another possibility; in the method of space construction, we learn the tradition of oriental architecture and gardening. When facing specific problems, we can not stick to traditional expression, but also exist in harmony but different from each other.
