INTRODUCTION: Installation works explore how individual life leaves traces, is commemorated or forgotten. The writer writes endlessly on paper the information about life recorded by the loved one. The pen stays salt and water on the paper and leaves vaguely visible words. The conversion between light and weight is a metaphor for the passage of life and the traces of life. The writing process is the exploration and nostalgia of life in private emotions, trying to achieve personal emotional reconciliation, and purely conducting self-tolerance and self-dialogue.
Tutor's comment: A detailed record of the weight of articles recorded by relatives before the death of illness triggered Yan Meiyue's thinking and exploration of the weight of life. The installation work "Weight of 0.9% kg" uses physiological saline as ink and a writing machine as a carrier to write a "salt book" about the weight of life. When the water evaporates, the "salt word" left on the paper is a trace of life, it is also the continuation of life. The work realizes the commemoration and memory of relatives with a ritual writing behavior, and also forms a warm expression of the disappearance of life.
