Motived from Korean traditional “Geobuk-byeong (turtle-shaped bottle)," this reinterpreted work is mainly used to put in flowers. A turtle represents longevity and fortune in Korean culture traditionally. Geobuk-byeong is a turtle-shaped bottle in which commoners used to carry alcohol or water since the period of the Three States. By expressing the generosity of Koreans which they are happy to offer water to those with thirst, the artist of this flower vase hoped to deliver the meaning of life. This work can be used either to put flowers in by hanging on a wall as a vase or to place small items on it like a plate and an objet without hanging.
